About SEMO Energy

SEMO as used in this blog is an acronym for a geographical area in Southeastern Missouri (SEMO). It includes the sixteen counties listed below and shown on the map to the right.  The SEMO area is generally rural and includes, but is not limited to, the area called the "Bootheel" of Missouri.


Each listed county has a linked Wikipedia page that contains information about that county. In addition to the general information provided; various information on that counties history, education, religion, geography, demographics, economy, crime, politics, townships, cities and towns, villages, transportation, notable people, tourism and attractions, weather, references, and external links may be found.

Additional information on the twelve counties in the western region of Southeast Missouri is provided by the "Missouri River Heritage Foundation". There you will find county maps, images, and information on cultural history, attractions, festivals and scenery in the counties in that region of Southeast Missouri.
