Gov. Jay Nixon announced Friday that a consortium of the state's largest power companies will help Ameren with the cost of obtaining an 'early site permit' from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Joining Ameren are Kansas City Power and Light, Empire District Electric, the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, Associated Electric Cooperative and the Missouri Public Utility Alliance."
