SPRINGFIELD - Gov. Jay Nixon today announced an agreement with key energy companies across the state to begin the process to construct a second nuclear power plant in Missouri, while protecting the interests of consumers.

The Governor made the announcement at the offices of Associated Electric Cooperative, with community leaders and representatives of Missouri's rural electric co-ops and municipal utilities."
