Mo. measure filed to block renewable energy rule - Bloomberg: "JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri senator has filed a resolution to block part of the rules developed by utility regulators for a renewable energy mandate.
Missouri voters approved a law in 2008 requiring investor-owned utilities to use increasing amounts of renewable energy sources to produce electricity. The Public Service Commission was responsible for developing rules to implement the new law.
A legislative committee this summer rejected part of the rules. A resolution has been filed to keep that portion from taking effect.
At issue is where the renewable energy could be produced and sold. The rule would have required the electricity to be produced or sold in Missouri to count toward the mandate."
