USDA Official Highlights Renewable Fuel Choices for Missouri Drivers

Release No. 0366.11: Kearney, MO, August 17, 2011 – USDA Rural Development Administrator Judith Canales saw first-hand today how flexible fuel pumps are providing Missouri drivers with more choices when they pull up to the fuel pump. With support from the Obama Administration, USDA is helping to fund the installation of flex-fuel pumps through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). Canales visited two sites today that now have pumps funded, in part, by the program.

"The installation of these pumps will help Missouri businesses, residents and motorists in many ways," said Canales, Administrator of USDA's Rural Business-Cooperative Service. "It will help businesses that install them create jobs, and it will spur economic activity in the renewable energy industry. This effort builds on the Obama Administration's commitment to 'Win the Future' by developing innovative ways to meet our future energy needs."
