KCP&L wants rate boost for Missouri customers - KansasCity.com: "Kansas City Power & Light is asking Missouri regulators to raise rates by up to 15 percent — $180 a year for an average residential customer.

The utility, announcing the request Monday, acknowledged that it wasn’t good news for its customers, especially in a still-struggling economy. But KCP&L said its hand was forced by increased costs for transmission lines and other system upgrades, the expense of environmental upgrades and renewable energy projects, and especially a lack of wholesale power sales, which it had been counting on."
