Ameren proposes keeping Lake of the Ozarks structures : News: "Ameren owns and manages the lake, Bagnell Dam and the Osage hydroelectric plant under FERC’s oversight. Terms are spelled out in a 40-year license issued in 2007.
The license required Ameren to submit a plan to manage a narrow ring of shoreline encircling the lake. Around much of the lake, the boundary of that ring of shoreline is defined by elevation, varying from 662 feet to 678 feet above sea level.
FERC’s order last June suggested that 1,200 lakefront homes and other structures that were all or partially within the ring of shoreline were “encroachments” and should be removed."
