Ameren energy efficiency charge to take effect Jan. 26 | Business | columbiatribune.com: "Ameren Missouri electric customers will pay about $3 more each month to support energy efficiency efforts by the utility company, the Missouri Public Service Commission said in a news release.
The charge, which will apply to the bills of 4,118 customers in Boone County and 1.26 million statewide, will pay for what is called the Cycle 2 plan under the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act.
It is intended to reduce demand and encourage other measures to increase efficiency in providing electric service.
A typical residential electricity customer now pays $1.10 per month for the program. The new charge will take effect Jan. 26 and will appear as a separate line on customer bills."
