MAESTRO offers free on-farm energy assessment

MAESTRO offers free on-farm energy assessment: Farmers with small livestock operations can receive a free energy-efficiency assessment worth $1,500 if they sign up at the Missouri State Fair or a University of Missouri Extension energy field day.
The Missouri Agricultural Energy Saving Team-A Revolutionary Opportunity (MAESTRO) program offers low-interest loans, rebates, technical assistance and other incentives to adopt energy-efficiency practices on small livestock, poultry and fish farms.
Participants in the program normally have to pay $250 for an on-farm assessment by a University of Missouri Extension associate, said Sam Orr, MAESTRO program director.
