The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis, IEEFA,  released the report on Aug. 29 about the coal-fired plant, Prairie State Energy Campus, developed by Peabody Energy.

David Schlissel, an attorney and consultant on electric energy presented the report at the public meeting.

Galion, Shelby and more than 200 local government units in eight states including Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and West Virginia, have a contract with Prairie State Energy Campus, a 1600 mega-watt coal-fired plant in southern Illinois, through American Municipal Power Ohio to provide electricity to residents."
