St. Louis utility to acquire Missouri Gas Energy - KansasCity.com: "A St. Louis utility has agreed to acquire Missouri Gas Energy, which supplies natural gas to more than 500,000 customers in Kansas City and western Missouri.
In a deal that could be completed next summer, the Laclede Group Inc., the parent of Laclede Gas, has entered into an agreement with Southern Union Co. to purchase MGE and New England Gas Co., a Massachusetts utility with about 50,000 customers."
