SEMO Food Bank earns rating | News | perryvillenews.com: "Working to be good stewards in energy conservation has earned SEMO Food Bank the ENERGY STAR® rating by the Environmental Protection Agency. It joins the Missouri Department of Conversation and Target Store buildings in Cape Girardeau as the only other buildings with this rating in Southeast Missouri.

A Wind-Vented Roof System at its warehouse and office center in Sikeston, helped it earn this certification for superior energy performance. Southface Energy Institutes’s Jean Pullen was instrumental in getting the Energy Star application submitted and the Institute awarded $75,000 in matching funds for ongoing energy improvements."
